Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first female vice president and the most powerful female official in U.S. history, as also the first African American and first Asian American vice president. As a member the Democratic Party, she was the former attorney general of California from 2011 to 2017 and a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. Harris began her career with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. Harris was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010, and was elected again in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California, from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sánchez in the 2016 Senate elections, becoming the 2nd African American woman, and the first South Asian American, to serve as senator in the United States Senate. As a senator, Harris advocated for federal de-scheduling of healthcare, and the legalization of cannabis which could lead to the citizenship of undocumented immigrants, and the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. She is well-known for her direct questioning of Trump government officials during Senate hearings.
